Browsing Without an Account

You can browse public pages — including schedule and score previews, school discovery, and our help and legal information — without creating an account. A free account is required to save schools, choose sports, build your personalized slate, sync calendars, and receive notifications. Display preferences may be stored locally in your browser.

Local Storage

Varsity Slate uses browser localStorage for preferences such as theme, timezone, anonymous app IDs, and product flow flags used to improve the experience.

Account Data

If you create an account, we store your email address and app preferences needed for cross-device syncing, follows, feeds, notifications, billing, and feedback features.

If you have an account, we may email you about the schools and sports you follow and about Varsity Slate features and plans. Every one of these emails has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also turn them off in Settings → Notifications.

Analytics

We collect limited first-party product analytics to understand onboarding, follows, dashboard use, and feature health. We do not sell personal data.

We also use the Meta Pixel to measure how our advertising on Facebook and Instagram performs. It sets the _fbp and _fbc cookies in your browser and reports page views and a few milestones (viewing pricing, starting checkout, completing a purchase) to Meta, along with the address of the page you are on and the page that referred you. It does not run on sign-in, password or invitation pages. Meta may combine what it receives with your Meta account under its own privacy policy. When you complete a purchase we also send that confirmation to Meta from our own server, using the same browser identifiers together with the IP address and browser type recorded when you started checkout. You can adjust this in your Meta ad preferences, or block the pixel with a content blocker.

Third-Party Services

Varsity Slate uses public sports data sources and service providers such as Supabase, Stripe and Resend for app functionality, and Meta for advertising measurement. Those providers keep your data in our private accounts and process it only on our behalf, never for their own use. Game data belongs to its respective sources and institutions.

Security

App traffic is served over HTTPS. Database access is protected by Row Level Security so account-scoped records are limited to the appropriate user.
