Is there an app for college volleyball scores?
Yes — and volleyball fans have earned their skepticism, because most sports apps treat college volleyball as an afterthought buried under football and the NBA. Varsity Slate flips that: volleyball is one of six fully-covered sports, with all 350 NCAA Division I women's volleyball programs tracked all season — schedules, live scores, final results, and week-by-week rankings. There is no app-store download and no paywall to check a score; the college volleyball hub and the live volleyball scoreboard are open to everyone, ranked Top 25 and one-bid conference alike. If your program plays Division I women's volleyball, it is on the slate — no exceptions for market size.
How do I follow my college volleyball team?
Find your school in the schools directory, follow it, and toggle volleyball — from then on every match shows up on your personal slate in time order, with a live score during play and the result after. Volleyball's rhythm is what makes this useful: September invitationals with two matches in a day, Friday–Saturday conference pairs all fall, and a mid-week rivalry match that is easy to miss. The slate keeps them all in one list instead of a screenshot of the schedule poster. Saving a team requires a free account (one school, one sport on the free tier; the Teammate tier covers five schools for $4.99/month or $29.99/year). Every plan is compared side by side on the pricing page. Just browsing? The volleyball hub needs no sign-in at all.
Does it show set-by-set live scores?
Honest answer: Varsity Slate shows the live match score — the sets won by each team — refreshed about every 30 seconds while a match is in play, then the final result the moment it ends. It does not chart every point inside a set; for rally-by-rally detail, the school's stream or live-stats page is still the right tool. What Varsity Slate is built for is the glance: you are at work, at another kid's game, or three time zones away, and you want to know whether your team has closed out the sweep or been dragged to a fifth set. The volleyball scores page lines up every live D1 match at once — next on the slate: Texas A&M Aggies at Louisville Cardinals on Friday, August 21.
Can I get the volleyball schedule in my calendar?
Yes — this is the feature volleyball families end up using most. Every team has an ICS calendar feed that subscribes into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook and updates itself when the schedule changes, so a moved first serve or an added tournament match rewrites your calendar without you touching anything. Per-team and per-school feeds are included on the free tier; creating one requires a free account because the feed is tied to your slate. A single combined feed for everything you follow at once is coming soon. Set it up once in August and the whole season — invitationals, conference play, and tournament dates — stays current through December. The full walkthrough lives at college sports calendar sync.
Does it cover women's and men's volleyball?
Varsity Slate's featured volleyball coverage is NCAA Division I women's volleyball — every D1 program, from the perennial national contenders to the smallest one-bid leagues, with the same schedules, live scores, and rankings treatment the football side gets. Men's college volleyball is not covered yet: it is a much smaller Division I field with a thinner public-data surface, and we would rather say "not yet" than list a sport we cannot keep live. It is on the candidate list for a future season alongside other expansion sports. If you follow a school for women's volleyball, you can also toggle any of its other covered sports — football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, and softball — from the same school page.
How does it work?
- 1.Follow your school — Search the schools directory for your program and toggle volleyball on.
- 2.Watch the slate — Every match appears in your games slate — upcoming first serves, live match scores, and finals in one chronological list.
- 3.Sync the season — Add the team's free calendar feed so every match lands in Google or Apple Calendar, and turn on alerts for match start and final scores.
How does it compare to the ESPN app and school websites?
The ESPN app is a genuinely good all-sports companion, and ESPN+ streams a huge share of regular-season volleyball — but finding a volleyball score in it means digging through menus built for football and the NBA. The other incumbent is no app at all: checking each school's athletics site every week and re-reading a schedule table that does not know the score. Varsity Slate sits in the gap — volleyball as a front-page sport, every school on one slate.
For the 2026-27 season, Varsity Slate tracks 350NCAA Division I women's volleyball programs and 848+ matches with live scores — every D1 school, not just the ranked Top 25.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free app for college volleyball scores?
Yes. Varsity Slate covers every NCAA Division I women's volleyball program and is free to browse in any web browser — schedules, live scores, rankings, and results with no account and no download. A free account is only needed to save your team, set alerts, and create a calendar feed.
How can I follow my daughter's college volleyball team?
Search her school in the schools directory, follow it, and toggle volleyball — every match lands on your slate with a live score, and a free ICS calendar feed puts the whole season on your phone's calendar automatically. The free tier covers one school and one sport, which fits most volleyball parents exactly.
Does Varsity Slate cover men's college volleyball?
Not yet. Varsity Slate's featured volleyball coverage is NCAA Division I women's volleyball — every D1 program, all season. Men's volleyball is a much smaller Division I field with a thinner public-data surface, and it is on the candidate list for a future season.
How live are the volleyball scores?
During matches, the live match score — sets won by each side — refreshes about every 30 seconds. Final results post as soon as the match ends, and season records update from there.
Can I add a college volleyball schedule to Google Calendar?
Yes. Every team has an auto-updating ICS feed that subscribes into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook — included on the free tier. Creating a feed requires a free account; after that, schedule changes flow into your calendar on their own.
Where can I watch college volleyball games?
When a broadcaster is listed for a match — ESPN+, ESPNU, a conference network — it appears on the game page next to the start time and venue. Many regular-season volleyball matches stream on ESPN+ or school platforms rather than linear TV, so the listing tells you where to look.
Do I need to download anything from the App Store?
No. Varsity Slate is a progressive web app that runs in Safari, Chrome, or any modern browser on iPhone, Android, or a computer. Use your browser's "Add to Home Screen" if you want it to open full-screen like a native app.
